Matthew Modine will be a featured guest on The Jimmy Star Show live radio show hosted by King of Cool, Jimmy Star along with his Cool Crowd of cohosts to discuss his movies, career, upcoming projects, and his new interactive iPad App, Full Metal Jacket Diary. MATTHEW MODINE has been called “one of the best, most adaptable film actors of his generation” by legendary NY Times film critic Vincent Canby. Modine has worked with many of the film industry’s most acclaimed directors including Oliver Stone, Sir Alan Parker, Stanley Kubrick, Robert Altman, Alan J. Pakula, John Schlesinger, Tony Richardson, Robert Falls, Sir Peter Hall, Abel Ferrara, Spike Lee, Tom DiCillo, Mike Figgis, Jonathan Demme, and John Sayles.

Throughout his career he has been nominated for three Golden Globes and is the recipient of one for Robert Altman’s film Short Cuts. Modine is well remembered for the title character in Alan Parker’s film Birdy which won the Cannes Film Festival’s Gran Prix Award and for his role as Private Joker, the central character of Stanley Kubrick’s 1987 war movie Full Metal Jacket. His work in Alan Rudolph’s Equinox helped earn the film four Independent Spirit Award nominations including Best Film and Best Actor. He is the recipient of a Venice Film Festival Volpi Cup and a Golden Lion Award. Modine recently co-starred in Christopher Nolan’s Batman epic The Dark Knight Rises, the Edward Zwick-produced Queen Freak, and Girl in Progress opposite Eva Mendes. He can next be seen as former Apple CEO John Sculley in the Steve Jobs biopic, jOBS (out April 19th) starring Ashton Kutcher.

In addition to acting, Matthew has been making short films for nearly two decades – six of which can now be seen as part of a Matthew Modine Short Film Retrospective on the ShortsHD television network. His latest short film, Jesus Was a Commie, an avant garde dialectical conversation about the world and the prominent issues of modern society, won the Founders Prize for Best Short Film at Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival and is currently available to view on YouTube.

Modine has also developed and released several new media projects. His award-winning book, Full Metal Jacket Diary, recently re-imagined as an interactive iPad app, is a unique and deeply immersive experience with narration, audio effects, original music, never-before-seen photos, personal letters, and much more. Matthew is also collaborating with Dumfun Productions and Glow Interactive on the new Punky Dunk Project children’s storybook app. The Punky Dunk Project is a fun, interactive, bilingual learning application now available for the iPad, iPad mini, and Kindle Fire.
